Last minute (next week) London GTG?

I fly out to the UK Sunday morning arriving Monday morning Dec 5.

I'm spending the first two nights in Oxford (5 - 6 Dec) and then up to London for 7-10 Dec and fly home 11 Dec. My whole time was pretty much accounted for but a couple of things have either been cancelled or moved to another day.

So Now I have masses of free time on Thurs Dec 8 - up until a 10PM dinner reservation; and late afternoon/evening Saturday Dec 10.

It is really late to be planning a GTG but thought I'd throw it out there to see if anyone is around/available.

Just left London this morning.
Do recommend Harry Potter if you can find tickets

Sure, janis. Any particular favourite time and venue?

OK -- I've had communication from a super secret 'under cover' Fodorite . . . who is available either Thurs afternoon or most any time on Saturday.

Both times work great for me -- Patrick, which is best for you?

Anyone else?

Either for me too, but maybe a slight preference for Thursday afternoon.

Yay (!) -- Thursday afternoon works great for me too.

Where would be good -- I have a 10PM dinner booking and squeezed in a evening program/drinks reception at the V&A at 7PM so someplace we could have drinks and bar snacks or late lunch

Damn! Will just miss you...arriving morning of the 9th and Saturday is booked for lunch in the Cotswolds. What resto's are you trying this trip? I'm booked at Kitty Fishers, Temple and Sons and Jamavar. Enjoy your trip, sorry we won't have time for a wine flight at F&M.

I'm doing a couple of very (VERY) spendy bucket list dinners and a lunch and dinner that are 'for old times sake' places - Cherwell Boathouse in Oxford and the Portrait in London. Thankfully one I'm being treated for my birthday (which was today but I'm putting off acknowledging it until next week).

The posh ones are Gordon Ramsay, Hospital Rd and L'Atelier Joel Robuchon - so not my typical nosh

Won't be discovering any new gems this trip . . .

I may pop onto F&M for a sip and toast to you

We are lunching with Family at The Chequers. A lucky onion property. Menu looks good!

Yes! That's the one! We are catching the train to Kingham where my Brother and SIL and 2 dogs no doubt will pick us up.

And a very warm Happy Birthday!

Have you eaten at the Plough in Kingham? Or maybe go just for drinks before training back to London.
