Large Group trip to Greece

We are in a similar situation - party of 25 hitting Greece in Jul/early Aug with kids - 6, 10 and a few teens. We're going to Mykonos for a couple of days instead of Greece. One question I had is wrt lunch and dinner options:

1. Is it very difficult to seat a large party together? Or did you split up into groups of maybe 6-8 and went to different restaurants?
2. Do restaurants typically have vegetarian options or we need to hunt for them? Some in the party are vegetarian, so just want to keep that in mind.
3. About a bus and a boat in Santorini. Does anyone have contact details for a provider? Just in case we need it. Is there a ballpark estimate of the cost?

Thanks,
Venky.

Welcome to Fodors. You tacked your questions on to a very old topic. We moved it to a thread of your own.

Vegetarian should be easy in Greece but don't expect seperate kitchens
Eating out in Greece is a slow relaxing process, but, anywhere in Europe it is courtesy to make a reservation before eating and certainly for 6 people. More than that, yikes, then you must make a special booking.

Mykonos is also in Greece!

Vegetarian food is very easy in Greece, but you’ll definitely need to make advance bookings for as large a group as yours. Will you all be going together or split up into smaller groups? We were an extended family group of seven and we always booked a couple of days ahead for dinner. Lunch we mostly grabbed on the go, except once or twice.

Are you going to Santorini too? Have you booked accommodation? Your hotel/host might be able to help, also about transportation and hiring a boat. They’ll certainly have suggestions for you.

Off topic, but I strongly recommend a visit to Delos, a short boat ride from Mykonos, it’s a magnificent archeological site. There’s little or no shade and it can get extremely hot, so go first thing in the morning and carry water, sunscreen and hats.

Damn autocorrect strikes again! Of course Mykonos is in Greece! Meant to say “Mykonos instead of Crete.”!! 😂😂

I think we may end up splitting up into smaller groups for dinner and have maybe 1 or 2 dinners together. Seems simpler, logistically.

Acco has been booked; will check with host about transport as well. Thanks for the info!
