I would like to take a 1 to 2 week language course in mid to late May, early June (then spend another week travelling, for a total of 3 weeks). I don't think I would like to spend the 2 weeks in a city. Any suggestions for a charming locale during that time, with enough to do for 2 weeks?

Italian! Sorry, I thought I was on the Italy thread. Also, the question is for a small, charming place in Italy.

I have looked into this in the past and found numerous schools, but have not been able to try one yet. There was a thread on this board just last week. In the search box type in Italian school study Italian and then click Italy and several threads should popup. You might want to change your heading to mention Italy.

I just read a review on an Italian language school that the reviewer did in Lucca. I have heard from two other people that they loved Lucca, so you might wish to try it. It was a topic on Slow Travelers website (www.slowtrav.com/italy). Sorry I don't remember the name of the school, but I believe it was Coine. If you can't find it on Slow Traveler, let me know and I'll look it up.
