Here´s the article with which I could not agree more. Chez l´Ami Louis is more about hype that substance:

This has got to be one of the most ridiculous meals I have ever had - have people honestly forgotten how to roast a chicken at home - I just paid €160 for just the chicken, that would have cost me about €15 to roast at home and I would have done it better. The foie gras was mediocre and the wine list ridiculously priced. I had a great meal at Guy Savoy the night before, with excellent wine and I paid #100 less than this rip-off - my respect for RW Apple has dimished greatly as we had always been told he was a big foodie, this place was not worth the price we paid for nothing more than bad cuisine al la maison!

I have been to L'Ami Louis twice. Rude service, sweaty staff, left us waiting for our bill, for our plates, rude, very very expensive and the food was delicious, but had the same great roast chicken from a local rottiserie. Had fantastic foie gras at Rose de France in Place Dauphine, amazing. L'Ami Louis is all hype and if you are famous or a celebrity, then you will be fne.

TP: That's one of the reasons why I rarely order roast chicken in a restaurant, or any chicken for that matter!
I understand now that there are other dishes that they do very well apart from the chicken but will probably never get there with so many other restaurants in the city that might be better bets.
Not sure why this post from 6 years ago was resuscitated by the new poster above..
