Lake Constance help please!

Last minute change of plans: staying in Lindau 3 nights next week as part of our 40 wedding anniversary trip. Any suggestions for fun things to do in the area and restaurant advice would be appreciated! We love the outdoors and are really looking forward to seeing the Alps! We are taking the train from Vienna to Breganz and ferrying over to Lindau. Thanks in advance for any help. (We are actually on our trip now and I can't research info about the area easily.)

Outdor activities may be difficult as it's actually cold and rainy and doesn't seem to get better in the next days.
You may check:
Cableway to Mount Pfaender (weather permitting)
Zeppelin Museum at Friedrichshafen
Celtic Lake Dwelling Village at Unteruhldingen
Meersburg castle
St. Gallen with it's Unesco world heritage cathedral and library

Thank you! That all sounds good. I guess biking around the area is out if the weather doesn't clear.

You can also get a boat to Mainau Insel, the flower island. It is a fun trip to see the flowers the, orchids and the butterflies.

This place is beautiful! We took the train and bus to Unteruhldingen to see the Celtic Lake Dwelling Village and then headed back stopping at Meersburg to see the castle and eat dinner. What a wonderful day! The views of the lake and countryside alone were worth the trip! The castle and village exceeded our expectations..... Thanks again for the advice! I'm going to check out Mainau Insel for tomorrow, but My husband seems to like the idea of the cable car ride ....so we'll see!

Mainau is very close to Unteruhldingen and Meersburg (one usually visit all 3 together).
Bregenz - Pfaender would be a completely different area (with view over the whole lake, especially nice at sunset)
