Lake Como Hotels

Anyone stayed at Metropole lately? Or do you have any suggestions where three women can share a room in Lake Como?

How about an apartment in the middle of Bellagio?

I've only been to the restaurant, it looked like a nice hotel but never saw the room. We stayed at Hotel Florence last September. Very nice junior suites at a reasonable price with incredible view. By the way the restaurant at Hotel Florence is actually better than at the Metropole.

Residence La Limonera is a true bargain, nice apartments however they are very far from the nice parts of Bellagio. You have to climb forever to get to the apartment but you do get a nice distant view. I prefer staying waterfront even if I have to pay more since I only stay for a few days not weeks. Having the direct access and the dramatic waterfront view is worth the extra cost.

"Very far"? "Climb forever"? Residence La Limonera is about two blocks up and three blocks over from the Hotel Florence. It's definitely NOT distant from the "nice parts" of Bellagio.

I suppose it's all relative, to us the blocks were too steep & long. We stayed waterfront while our cousins who stayed at la Limonera complained everyday. They tried to go up/down once a day (they have young kids). La Limonera cost less than half of our room price but we think it's worth every extra cent.
