Lake Bled accommodation
My husband are travelling to Slovenia late August and will arrive in Lake Bled about 5pm by train. We would really prefer to have our accommodation booked. Can anyone recommend any private rooms or apartments. Would like to have a view of the lake. Any comments or help is much appreciated.

Syl: Have you (or anyone else out there) already stayed at Pension Bomi? I've booked it for next month and wanted to know what you thought of it. Couldn't find much info about it online, but it seems nice.

Hi Mark,
Just returned last night from our trip.Of the 11 places we stayed,Pension Bomi is close to the bottom of the list. It's a little too rustic for my liking.Choose a pension closer to the centre of town. I'll post a trip report at a later date.

Thanks for the info, Syl, but can you be a little more specific? What do you mean by rustic? I don't mind basic accomodations, as long as the place is clean and comfortable. Did the views make it worthwhile at all? Seems like a lot of the smaller places near town don't really have lake views.
Also -- how far is it to walk to town? I don't mind a bit of walking, but is it easy enough to walk to dinner?

Hi Mark,
It's about a 30 minute walk to the town center around the lake. There are no restaurants close to Bomi otherwise. The pension is located up on a hill & is pretty well hidden from the road down below. It would be fine if you had a car because the best restaurants are either in town center or further. As per description of the pension, yes, it is clean & somewhat roomy if you ask for a balcony.View is indeed pretty from balcony.Perhaps the pouring rain added to the creepy feeling of longing for something more comfortable i.e.TV had limited channels only in Slovenian.Happy to leave after one night instead of 2 because of the rain as this gave us an extra night in lovely Piran instead.
