LA to London trip: 6 nights enough??

I don't think it's about time. You will leave on a Wednesday and arrive on a Thursday. That entire day will be shot to jet lag. The next day you may be slow but can enjoy yourself from then until you leave to come home (5 days and nights). You will probably feel tired at work on the Thursday you return but the jet lag is not the same coming back west.
I think it's more a matter of money. If the expense for 5 good days of London doesn't put you off, then this is plenty of time to enjoy London. As others have said, you'll go back again some day as this short stay will tease you into a return trip - if you can afford it.
So if the cost doesn't bother you, go and have fun!
