La Samaritaine Department store view?

We missed on our last visit the view spot. Hoped to see it this Sept. Just found on Rick Steves web site that it has been closed. Does anyone know if this is temporary or permanent?

I meant to add "in Paris" to the topic.

We were there last month and part of the roof was closed. There is a small area for eating and viewing. When we tried to order they were out of just about everything. I don't know if it was just that day or they have a limited food service because of the renovations. However, the view is still worth the trip.

We were there late last month and the roof seemed to be fully open and functional. There is a 360 degree view that is among the best in Paris. And the food was pretty good - they had a varied selection.

If it is the free access to a 360 degree panoramic view you want, get that atop Printemps.

Even if Samaritaine's open-air rooftop is temporarily closed, you can have lunch at the enclosed restaurant a floor below.

The Printemps roof deck is in the La Maison building to the west. The one next door [La Mode] has the beautiful glass dome over Cafe Flo.

I was at La Samaritaine on May 10th. The 360 degree viewing deck was closed, however the roof top cafe was open. It has a very good view, though you're usually looking over the heads of seated people having refreshments.

Hello, I was there the first week of June and the rooftop was closed. The sign did not indicate the reason for being closed. There were lots of strikes that week, not sure it there is a connection there.

Hope it's open for you when you go. It's a great view.

You'll stand where Matt Damon stood in Bourne Identity!!
