La Rochelle or Arcachon
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a place to recommend my family stay after they've spent a week with us in Sarlat.
They're looking to go to the atlantic coast. My parents want beach, scenery, restaurants, etc. I think my younger brother would like some access to night life etc.
Is there a place that offers the best of both worlds?
Would you recommend La Rochelle area or Arcachon area?
Thanks very much.

Haven't been to La Rochelle, which i understand is a gorgeous unique city with access to the Ile of Re, which has some nice seascapes and towns.
But have been to Arachon and the town is a very pleasant seaside resort - seems like would have youth-oriented nightlife.
The reason i went to Arachon was to go to the nearby Dune du Pilat, one of the natural wonders of Europe - a several hundred feet high sand dune just a few miles out of Arachon. The whole area around it is a fantastically nice sandy beach.
