La Foce in Tuscany?

Has anyone recently stayed at La Foce in Tuscany? I am thinking of renting an apartment there for two people in October. Is this a good location for touring the hilltowns of southern Tuscany? Also, what is your opinion of the accomodations?

Thanks in advance.

We stayed at La Foce for a week in July 2001, and it was lovely. The grounds were beautiful, the apartment very nice, two very nice pools. Just too hot w/o airconditioning -- but you won't have that problem in October. The location could not have been more perfect for traveling around the towns -- very close to Montepulciano, Montalcino, Pienza and others. And easy enough for day trips to Siena and Florence.

There's lots of info about La Fornacina at www.slowtrav.com, a noncommercial website, where a lot of people post about rentals in Tuscany. I attended a picnic at La Fornacina in October 2001. I'd snap it up in a heartbeat if I wanted to rent in Tuscany.

We are headed to La Foce in November.
I would have rented Fornacina, but there
are 6 of us. You can also read a review
of La Foce apartments at Slow Travel.
