Krakow to Prague CAR SERVICE

Can anyone recommend a reliable, fairly priced car service, that we may contact to drive us from our hotel in Krakow to our hotel in Prague? English speaking driver..... About what should we expect to pay for this service? How long should the drive take on a weekend? mid week day? Do the services charge according to the type of car? Is there a recommended scenic route opposed to a faster highway route? Is there one special stop, to break up the driving time, that would be an enjoyable leg stretcher and lunch location?

MANY, MANY THANKS!

SG

And what is "fairly priced" to you in actual money? The fair price is the value of the service to the provider considering the time driving, fuel and equipment costs, tolls/vignettes, return travel to city of origin and opportunity cost of accepting your business instead of other business.

Did you contact MIke's chauffeur that iwan2go recommended? Given they used him for a long trip, I think that would be a good place to start, although he is based on Prague, not Krakow. Still anyone doing this is going to have to go both ways. And Mike's service does say they can make arrangements in Poland.

I think this is an unusual request due to the distance, and it won't be easy to find someone. Usually private car services do charge differently depending on type of car, though -- ie, limo vs. basic sedan, etc. But for a trip like that, you may not be able to pick and choose type of car. Most people would take the train or bus that distance.

So I don't know of anyone but I would recommend asking your hotel, presuming you are staying in one and it is maybe at least 4*. Maybe even 3*, I don't know. I have stayed at the Hotel Pariz my last couple times there and I know they have drivers they have arrangements with for their hotel guests (to pick up or go to airport, train station, etc.). So I wouldn't hesitate to ask them if they knew of a private driver who would do this and to quote a rate. A lot of hotels in Prague have arrangements with certain drivers or car service companies for airport transfers, it seems to me, I know my other one did also. I suspect the Hotel Pariz has an arrangement with some car service company, not that they are hiring drivers one by one. But that's just a guess.

IN Krakow, I have stayed at both the Hotel Grodek and HOtel Pod Roza and they arranged for a car driver to airport/train transfer for me, also. Those were 4* hotels, I believe.

If you have gotten a quote from Mike's and you don't like it, maybe you should state that is the problem, so people know your threshold?

I know nothing about this company except they seem to do what you want http://www.bekrakow.com/prices/
All I know is they charge 900 zloty (about 220 USD) to go from Krakow to Warsaw, and that's about 300 km and Krakow to Prague is about 535 km). So it will not be cheap, also, they probably get a return fare within Poland. They only use Mercedes Benz cars.

BY contrast, this company charges 800 euro for the same trip https://www.blacklane.com/en/fares

this company charges about 15000 CZK for a regular car, which is around US$600

my only suggestions

There are several good train options between Krakow and Prague. Save your money and have a nice lunch or dinner in the restaurant car along the way. You'll see a lot more from a train window than from a car traveling along a modern highway with sound barriers on both sides in many places!

I would also recommend taking a train or even a bus, although the train will be more comfortable.
