Krakow + in November
we are traveling to Krakow in late November (20 - 25).....have no idea how many days we should plan for the city and are there any good 1 or 2 day side trips or other cities we should visit. Been to Vienna, Prague, Budapest and Munich....would really like to concentrate on Eastern Europe. Is it worth it to split time between Bratislava and Krakow?

I was in Krakow for 3 days last year and I'm going back for 5 more days. There are lots of side trips. You could see Auschwitz, Zakopane, Salt Mine for example.
The amount of time you spend there depends on what you want to see. Take a look at a guide book to see the many things that Krakow offers. Or click in "Destinations" above.

To answer your question, no. Unless you fly, you'd have to take a circuitous train or road route to Bratislava. You can easily stay the whole time in Krakow.
As for "side trips" from Krakow -- if you don't know of any offhand, you've not done your research. The two most common are Oswiecim (known better by its German name) and the Salt Mines. Go to inyourpocket.com for more information and ideas.

If you come to Krakow for 5 days, you need at least one for Salt Mine in Wieliczka and Auschwitz and 4 days for Krakow only. You should see Castle, Kazimierz District, Old Town with Cloth Hall. If you would have more time, there are also other amazing places to see. I could prompt you, if you want

Other interesting places, (not only museums or monuments) are for example Aquapark - amazing place for children and for adult also. Błonia and Jordan Park are amazing places for a walk. It is worth to see the Schindler Factory museum or Kopiec Kościuszki, where you can admire all city.
