Krakow-Auschwitz-Krakow-Prague
#21
as of April this year, Poland was still on the zloty, and unusually, I got a better exchange rate at one of the booths on the main square of Krakow than I did at home. so take some £s or U$s with you.
we didn't do it, but there were plenty of people getting the vans to auschwitz from outside the station. as you are getting the train from Prague, you should have no problems, and there is a tourist office right by the main station, I think.
have a great trip,

From my experience, it was quite easy to take the train/bus to the airport(which isn't that big). However, someone with a lot of luggage may want to take a taxi. Also, I purchased my train ticket from Prague-Krakow at the station and it was a third of the cost that I was quoted on-line, so I would tend to support the position of waiting until you reach your destinations. As for the language issue, I would admit that I felt a little isolated being on my own and the fact that english and czech/polish are very different languages, so it was difficult to connect like between english and spanish. Thankfully, I had my cheat sheet and was armed with a smile. The people are very friendly one on one. I thought Krakow was like a mini Prague(I'm sure locals wouldn't appreciate this). The buildings were beautiful and it was wonderful to walk around. I didn't see the dragin, though. enjoy
