Kilometric Ticket help!

My husband and I used the Kilometric ticket last June and traveled from Milan to Venice, Venice to Florence, Florence to Rome and Rome to La Spezia.
Then, I used it from La Spezia to Milan and back. We used about 2600 Km's and you get 3,000 total. We sometimes paid a bit more for a supplement for 1st class or for the Eurostar trains (ES). This is a DIFFERENT Eurostar than the London-Paris Eurostar. You need to decide what your distances will be and then decide if the Kilometic is cheaper than point to point. If you have 5 people traveling you still only get the 3,000 Kms so keep that in mind.
There was a tread a few weeks ago on this and I gave some other info. then (don't have it in front of me right now) so you might do a search.

Patti: I was looking at the FS-online for the train schedule....and to find out that we most likely have to take either the IC or ES* trains. If I used the kilometric pass...how much supplement will I have to pay for a 2nd class?
This is the only part that I dont understand about the supplement...the extra amount that I will need to pay.

I cannot remember how much the supplement was but I DO remember that it was not expensive or at least we did not think so (my husband says between 6-8 american dollars equivalent. And yes, it can be confusing. We bought the booklet in Milano Centrale and then in Venice we made reservations for the ES from Venice to Florence and also for Rome to LaSpezia (just because you have the booklet does not mean you have a seat!) Its best to make reservations esp. on weekends.

Patti, you replied to me on an earlier thread and I forgot to ask you this:

So, if one is travelling as a group of 2 from Rome to Florence, one would deduct (2*312) = 624 km from the total, write this on the next free coupon, stamp it in the machine, and board. I just can't believe that FS expects one to go to a ticket window to have this done, but maybe I'm wrong?
