Kathy's France report in installments: Latin Quarter and Hotel Parc Saint Severin
Our last 3 days of a two week trip were spent here. We loved the location and found the hotel to suit our needs very well. Air con, centrally located, nice view of the St. Severin church from our 4th floor window and friendly service. Good a.m. coffee (cafe au lait... (big cup.)
Latin Quarter: We found this a fun place to call home after each day's excursions around Paris. For one thing, there was always something to eat... lots of little "touristy food places" lined the skinny cobblestone streets steps away from our front door. Being there only 3 days we couldn't quite get the hang of "business hours" and we were always wanting a bite around the time places were closed between lunch and dinner. In the Latin Quarter you could always find something open.
I have to say at this point that we "did Paris" in a way that could be appalling to some, impressive to others. I'm still recovering from all the activity. Our relaxation time was prior to that in Provence. If we had to do it over, we'd do Paris first, then Provence. More about that later. Feel free to inquire about either the Latin Quarter or the Parc St. Severin on this thread and I'll be happy to elaborate!

daisy, I'm not KathyO (and this thread is almost a year old, so I'm not sure if she's stil around), but my mother and I stayed there last Sept. Our room was very nice and very clean. You can walk to the Seine in a couple of minutes, it's very close. You're also even closer to Place St. Michel for metro and bus stops. I don't think the breakfast is worth the price, you may want to eat somewhere else. Have fun!
