Just what is a "Busman's Holiday?"

I know what a bank holiday is, but what is a Busman's holiday? Do you know how it got it's name?

A busman's holiday is when you go on holiday and do exactly what you do at home/work.
I.e The eponymous busdriver going on a coach tour or a fisherman going on a fishing holiday etc
Spoon's definintion is accurate. And this includes any mother who takes her kids along on her vacation; double for those who go to summer cottages that lack conveniences of home!

The term "busman's holiday" supposedly arose when there were horse-drawn buses in London (they finished around 1915). The story is that when the bus driver had a day off work, he didn't want the relief driver to mistreat his horses, so he travelled on his bus as a passenger to ensure that his horses were looked after properly.

I don't suppose jokes about being HGV positive are going to be well received?
