July in Ireland-What to wear

I know shorts are out, but are cropped pants okay for touring Ireland? I plan to pack for rainy days as well.

If cropped pants are shorts - I think this will be fine, but yes pack for some rain too. In Ireland it usually rains more in July and August than it does in May or September. Usually.

Capri pants should be fine, but yes, pack for rain. I am going in 9 days, and will have a poncho and a shawl, as well as short and long sleeved shirts, slacks, capris, etc.

Karen

I'm delighted to tell you we havent had rain here in Ireland ( well Dublin anyway) for 3 weeks, the weather has been really lovely, temps have been hitting between 20 and 24 and its been really pleasant, of course us Irish call that a heatwave!!

I would take a gamble and pack a pair of shorts, you might be glad of them

Hi Lucilou yes everyone its a lovelys summer so far and here is hoping it stays. I have a slight tan on my pasty face from a few burns over the bank holiday weekend. Pack for sping weather in the U.S. (NY spring) and it should be fine.

I think capris and cropped pants will be fine. Pack for rain though and bring a sweater as well. The weather may be warm and sunny now but can change.

I got caught one year when a friends in Ireland and London emailed about how wonderful the weather was and within a few days it was chilly and rainy and I'd left my warmer clothing at home.

Hi Siobhan, great weather we're having surely! My BBQ is getting great use! Siobhan I hope you dont get too much burning, be careful and use suncreen.

Hopefully that sunny weather will last for the next three weeks

We leave on the 23rd for our glorious 15 day venture. It can be cooler, but keep that sunniness!
