I honestly do not believe that the Koons exhibition is making Versailles any more crowded than it normally is. We went first thing in the morning (we arrived before opening time), and I can tell you that many tourists (esp those in tour groups) were rather oblivious to the Koons sculptures.

Friends of mine were at Versailles in July (before Koons opened) and they said it was so crowded that they couldn't see much.

That's just the way Versailles is, Koons or no Koons.

Thanks for the warning NorCalif. I was planning to get there for opening time on the Sunday anyway, but will now make sure we do. Perhaps it will not be so bad in late November anyway.

My previous visit was in August 1974 and I don't remember it being busy at all - so I was prepared to find it rather different now !
