My wife and I stayed at the James house for 4 nights at the end of march. The house was clean comfortable and affordable, though like many places, not terribly large. If you are looking for luxury, this is not the place. ocation was excellent, being an easy 10min walk from either Sloan Sq or Victoria tube stops. (Use Sloan Sq.) the walk is more pleasant.

Cartref House at 129 Ebury St. (11 rms., 8 w/toilet & bath or shower) serves breakfast in a charming lower-level rm. w/nonworking fireplace (except for the light bulb); #9 (compact rm. w/small double bed & compact shower w/toilet) is for a single; #10 is a ground-flr. rm. w/2 twin beds, curtain divides the shower w/toilet & faces garden; #6 has 2 twin beds, compact shower w/toilet & faces street; #7 is a top-flr. rm. w/2 twin beds, compact shower w/toilet & view of rooftops; #5 has a double bed, cubicle shower w/toilet & faces street; #4 & 8 both have double beds, twin beds, compact showers w/toilets & face back; #11 is a ground-flr. rm. w/double bed & bunk beds; there are 2 public bathrooms for the 3 rooms (1, 2 & 3) to share; Annex James House (9 rms., 3 w/toilet & shower) is located across the street & serves breakfast in a charming glass-enclosed conservatory: #1 is a small rm. w/double bed, shower w/toilet & faces back; #3 has 2 twin beds, compact shower w/toilet & faces back; #2 is a large rm. w/double bed, bunk beds, high ceiling, compact shower w/toilet & 2 huge floor-to-ceiling windows; there are 2 public bathrooms for the other 6 rooms to share; most w/compact bathrooms, all rms. (except #1) have ceiling fans, hairdriers, tea/coffee makers in each rm., fabulous atmosphere, noisy location, no elevator, 4 flrs.
