IWM

Best way to travel from London to Duxford to see the IWM for a day in October. Looked on the train timetables and they seemed to only show from about 4a.m. To 6 a.m. leaving
London?

The Museum's website includes transport information.

That is patently silly. Try again. Frequent trains leave all day long from both Kings X and Liverpool Street

I believe you need to get a train to either Cambridge or Royston and then get a taxi to & from Duxford. Trains to Cambridge from London Kings Cross take an hour and there are several every hour throughout the day. Look on www.nationalrail.co.uk - there's no advantage to buying tickets ahead on this route, just turn up at the station.

Train times for October won't be released for several weeks but, assuming it isn't a weekend, they should be the same times as for more recent dates

Maybe you didn't scroll the page at the bottom for the next results? They have trains about 3 times an hour. I think Royston is a bit closer than Cambridge, not sure.

Thank you, trying to do this from Australia, so the site I was on wasn't very helpful obviously. Will check the national rail site.

Whittlesford Parkway is probably the nearest station. There is no taxi rank there though so you will need to arrange onward travel in advance. I honestly can't remember if there are buses either.
