It's that time again... What time is that?? HAGGIS time!!

Well another year has passed and once more our thoughts turn to turnips and sheep innards. Anyone got plans for Burns Night? Ourselves, we're just likely to sit back (initially, then pitch over) with a nice bottle of malt acquired for the pittance of £25 a couple of weeks ago at the World o'Whisky shop at Heathrow. Haggis and clapshot will need to wait till the weekend. Here's tae us...

We did a Bobby Burns Night in Brussels years ago. What a fun party. My first time with haggis topped with whiskey, lots of whiskey.

You people dance funny. What a hoot!

I have a Burns Supper to attend on the 28th. It will take place in the Incoporated Trades Hall in Aberdeen, will have approximately 200 people, and my niece will be the piper.

The menu will be Scotsch Broth, haggis neeps and tatties and trifle. There will be whisky and dancing.

Sheila, I've never had tatties & trifle (rofl)
Budman - who the heck is Bobby Burns? And whiskey with an "e" is Irish - Scotch is whisky.

Anyway, back to the question - my birthday is the day after Burns Nicht, so we'll wait & do the haggis/clapshot/Talisker thing on Thursday. Now, where did I put that Robert Wilson tape?

Last year, Marks and Spencer did two types of haggis.
One was in plastic and the other was in what they coyly called "traditional casing".
I'll be bashing my neeps and tatties with the rest of you.

doonhamer, we Colonists are a little less Formal -- Bobby, Bob, Rob for Robert, Mike for Michael, Rich or Dick for Richard, yada, yada, yada.

50 lashes with a wet noodle for misspelling whisk[e]y. I'm Irish after dark.
