Ingo - there's plenty of snow in Fulpmes and on the Stubai glacier. We're headed back to Innsbruck today so will see if it snowed there overnight.

Ingo - today we took the tram from Fulpmes to Innsbruck - you had suggested it to us a few years ago when we first attempted to make this trip, but I was under the impression it only ran on weekends and school holidays? Anyway, we enjoyed the trip, although it's probably prettier in the summer.

Ingo - and no snow in Innsbruck today either, but it's coming down like gangbusters right now in Fulpmes.

Mel - thanks for the info. I thought Innsbruck would also get some snow but it seems it's "protected" by the surrounding mountains. I bet the people in Fulpmes - and you - are happy that the town gets tons of snow. YAY! Btw, about an inch snow on the ground in Dresden (old town) and about 10 - 20 inches in the Erzgebirge (Ore mountains).

That Stubaital tram runs all year round daily, every 30 minutes. The ride is for sure prettier in summer with the green pastures, wooden houses with flower boxes, grazing cows .... Glad you did it, though!

Looks beautiful, Mel.
Those European buildings, twinkling lights, snow, very appealing little stores, it has the ‘magic’ we lack.

Someone had decorated their gum tree with red baubles on our warm, sunny walk yesterday….Christmas in Australia 😎

Adelaidean - I remember those Christmases all too well.

Some photos from the Mayrhofen Advent Market today - it was held in a forest and the snow was the perfect touch.

Making me miss Christmas markets in Europe! Munich was a fun one in 2019. My favorite is Salzburg. Nurnberg in 2017 was amazing too. Vienna was incredible too. How can I choose a favorite? Oh then there's Prague...

I've wanted to visit the Christmas Markets for years and haven't made it happen yet. Fabulous pictures... and that snow! Thanks so much for sharing.

Very festive, indeed! Beautiful pictures again, thanks Mel!

Oh, are these the prices for Glühwein etc. in the second picture? If so, then quite expensive, I'd say. And a Hot Dog 8 Euro?

It's cold, wet and windy. Day 10 of rain, rivers full, mud in all the fields and still our parish church, with Roman foundations, has managed to host 41 Christmas trees all decorated for charities around town. My tree.
