Itinerary Help - NORWAY!

Hello everyone,

I am visiting Scandinavia in July and needed some advice on my itinerary below:

Day 1: Stockholm
Day 2: Stockholm
Day 3: Stockholm
Day 4: Stockholm to Alesund (via flight). Oslo does not seem interesting so want to skip that
Day 5: Take the 90 minute cruise to Geirangerfjord - Please let me know if there is a better option
Day 6: Fly to Bergen from Alesund
Day 7: Bergen
Day 8: Take the Norway in a Nutshell - Bergen round trip
Day 9: Bergen
Day 10: Back to the US

Any thoughts and suggestions are welcome! Thanks!

Olso is, in fact, very interesting. Don't know where that comment comes from. While NiN is fine ( you do know you can do the same tour on your own and, even, personalize it ) you'll be covering the same area twice. There are alternatives.

Day 5 - what 90 min cruise to Geiranger from Ålesund? It will take a whole day to get to Geiranger and back. You could take the Hurtigruten - https://www.hurtigruten.com/find-a-t...ended&asc=true
Unfortunately the new website is a mess and I can't get it to show me a port to port trip Ålesund - Geiranger - Ålesund - you might have to give them a call.
The Norway in a Nutshell is a self guided, no group, route on public transport. While you could book everything yourself there is not much to save on a round trip from Bergen. Apart from staying in Flåm there is also not much you can personalise as it is a full day and there are limited through connections - https://www.norwaynutshell.com You might find the Hardangerfjord in a Nutshell tour less crowded in mid season (Flåm tends to be packed out with cruise tourists). Better book early - looks like there is a huge increase in tourists this year due to weak kroner.

I assume day 5 is really the ferry to and from Hellesylt.

Doing Norway in early June. Seems you are spending a lot of time in Bergen. If you are 60+ doing NIN is a lot cheaper doing yourself and easy to set up.

Wow, Oslo is very interesting! As for your trip to Bergen can't see why you wouldn't do the Nutshell going Oslo to Bergen. A city we love so I would enjoy days to wander etc. Just check your guidebook.
