Day cruise from Bergen worth it?

We plan on visiting Oslo and Bergen in May or June 2003. With what we already have planned, we will not have time to take a multi day cruise tour of the fjords. Are ther day tours and are they worthwhile compared to the longer tours?
Thanks for your replies.

tbmichie: Take the all day (long day) Norway in a Nutshell tour. You can start in Oslo and end up in Bergen. You will see remarkable fjords and wonderful scenery. It is great for those that don't have a lot of time. In fact, it is great for those that do have a lot of time as well. Do a search on Norway in a Nutshell and you will get tons of information about this exciting trip. Have a great vacation.

The trip on the Hardangerfjord to Rosendal is nice, or a 3,5 hours cruise to Lysoen. I guess you'll be doing the Nutshell and visit the Sognefjord on your way from Oslo. Hopefully you still have time to enjoy Bergen, if that’s the case enjoy.
www.fjordcruise.no

Try www.ms-bruvik.no and www.whitelady.no. Both offer day cruises from Bergen, though they will be infrequent before midsummer which is when the main summer season starts in Scandinavia.

Another vote for Norway in a Nutshell, which you can also do round trip in a day from Bergen. A really fantastic day with trains, boats, buses, and fabulous scenery - mountains, fjords, etc. Also, in Bergen, make sure to take the cable car to the top and go for a walk/hike above the city... beautiful views.

Another vote for the Nutshell tour. We did it last June from Oslo/Bergen/Oslo and was overwhelmed by the scenery-which was breathtaking, especially the fjord cruise segment. Two words of advise-be prepared for a very long day and bring twice as much film as you'd planned on bringing. You'll see why!

Loved the Norway in a Nutshell tour 3 years ago! Pick up info at the tourist center in Bergen. Very relaxing and interesting. If you can go from Oslo to Bergen in the train go for it and spring for the 1st class cabin. You won't believe the luxury for the cost.
Eat at the Unicorn restaurant in Bergen on the Briggen. The "Assorted Seafood" appetizer is expensive but huge enough for a meal for 2 and fantastic!
Enjoy!
