Itinerary for Girona?
Hi,
I am spending a few days in Girona and wondering what I should do? Are there any good walking tours? What is the best way to take in the Jewish history? Any things that are 'must do's'?
Thank you

Girona for a few days is going to be a challenge. The Jewish quarter isn't that big, but you can spend a day enjoying it. See the Banys Arabs (Arab Baths) and the Torre de Gironella, the highest point in the Jewish quarter. It's behind the Catedral. Take a walk along the city walls and have lunch at Cal Ros (www.calros-restaurant.com).
Check with the Tourist Office of Girona for information:

The only guided tour I can recommend would be with Spanish Trails, which offers a 2-hour walking tour, but it would normally be from Barcelona:

would tend to agree...a few days in Girona is a long time...it is small and places of interest are in a small area. Many foodies stay the night and dine at the famous El Celler de Can Roca outside of town but it depends if that kind of dining and expense is what you like. Spanish Trails is an excellent company and I believe they are based in Girona. I would contact them and see if they can propose something interesting or you could join one of their BCN tours when they get to Girona. The Dali museum is usually included and they go to Cadaques.

Will you have a car? There are many things to do around Girona to keep you occupied, but if you are going to stay in the city, definitely walk the city wall, and go to the Cathedral (make sure to view the Tapestry of the Creation. It is stunning.)
There are several museums you can check out, including the Jewish History museum, a film museum (mainly geared towards the hardware history, how film got started), and an art museum. The link for the museums is here:

Depending on when you go, sometimes they have weekend things going on in the Plaza de la Indepencia. There is always something going on somewhere - check this list for events when you go.

If you like craft cocktails run, don't walk, to Nykteris.

Mariona makes the most amazing cocktails.. try one with Ratafia in it.
Have a great time - its a wonderful town!
