itinerary for Belgium, Normandy, Loire Valley
Hi, everybody,
We're planning to travel at Sept. at Belgium & France. we're taking a car at Amsterdam, going from there to Antwerpen, Brugge, continue to Normandy, than to the Loire Valley, from there maybe to Paris for a couple of days, than to Gent and Brusseles and back to Amsterdam. For all this we've got 13 days. I've read many useful advises in Fodors of many nice, experienced guys... Perhaps somebody could advise us some good itinerary? There're such a plenty of beautiful Castles (that's what I love most of all!) in Loire Valley, and not less in Normandy..., but I understand that it would be too wearisome to see all of them, so, please, some "bests & musts"?...

Thans a lot in advance!

Definitely too ambitious. Looks like 2 trips to me: 1. Benelux countries, 2. Loire valley & Normandy.

If and when you decide to visit Loire area, relax and take it easy...that's what it's there for! Must-see chateaux include Chenonceaux and Chambord. Must-see towns include Blois and Chinon. Also Saumur and Amboise (for both categories). Gardens at Villandry are exceptional. Chartres cathedral is awe-inspiring, if you have the time. But the most fun, for me, was simply biking around the countryside, stopping at tiny villages, wineries, etc. Don't get too "chateau-ed out"!

Thanks to all of you.
Do you really think it's too ambitious?
Perhaps we'll think about cutting the itinerary....
Mr. Go, thanks for your list. Good list, I think, we'll use it.

Dear Topper, I'm looking for sight information... Our itinerary is pre-roughed, not closed. I'm mainly interested in history, architecture, but food as a part of local spirit is not less interesting. Have you some advise for me?

Once more, thanks to all.
