Italy: What do you think about Spello?

We have stayed at the aforementioned La Bastiglia hotel. The view from the terrace side of the hotel is breathtaking, try for a room on that side of the hotel. Our teens stayed in a street side room that was less than memorable. An ok breakfast buffet was included in the room $. Dinner is what the foodies rave about, although I agree with the nouveau/fusion edge mentioned by Eloise. While the hotel is located on the upper reaches of the old town, it is not really a "hike", but a meandering uphill walk... less busy than Assisi as well, we enjoyed our stay.

Does anyone know a self catered accomodation near or in Spello for a family of five that would be outstanding?

Thanks

Sue
