Italy Trip Help Please
Dear all,
I'm going to Italy for the first time in March, flying in/out of Flrenze. Here is my rough iternary, I would love to hear any comments/suggestions.
March 3,4: Florence
March 5,6,7: Venice
March 8,9,10: Rome
March 11: Rome - Pompeii - Sorrento
March 12,13: in AC relaxing
March 14: AC - Sienna?
March 15,16: Tuscany
March 17: Florence again before flying out next morning.
Can anyone tell me what the best/fastest route from AC to Sienna is?
Thanks for all your great help.

Way too much on your program.
It seems a bit like it will also be the last time you come to Italy !
How will you travel in Italy? By car? By train?
What will you do with your car in Rome? In Venice?
Your schedule doesn't take in account travel time;
- between Rome and Venice, the 7th or the 8th is a day on the road,(600 km)
- between Florence and Venice, the 4th or 5th is half a day on the road, (280 km)
- Amalfi coast to Siena is 6 hours on the road (500 km)
You'ld like to see Tuscany, Venice, Rome and the Amalfi coast...
I would skip 1 destination and do:
1) Tuscany, Venice and Rome, or
2) Tuscany, Rome and AC.

Hi law,
For a first trip, with only 2 weeks, I urge you to do the big 3 and save the AC for your next trip.
Some suggestions:
If this is the beginning of March, you will be somewhat early in the season for the AC.
You are not giving enough time to Florence or Tuscany.
If you haven't purchased tickets yet, I agree with Statia about flying into Rome and out of Venice.
If you have your tickets already, you could do
Florence 6 days
Day trips to Siena, Lucca, SanGim
Rome 5 days
with a trip to Pompeii
Venice 3 days
Return to Florence and fly home next day.
Enjoy your trip.

thanks all,
I thought it would be kinda hectic but unfortunately 2.5 weeks is all I have and the we got a great deal on the flight. I've been thinking about cutting out the Amalfi coast as it is early in the season, but we'll have to see as we get closer.
Once again, thanks all.

My husband and I went to Italy for the first time in April 2002 for a month. We did not go to AC so can't really comment, but I'd spend more time in Rome, Florence and driving through the hill towns. We loved Siena. I'd wait and do Venice another time since it is far from Rome and Florence (I'm a bit biased since we didn't think Venice was THAT great, but we know there are many people who would argue against us). We spent 6 days in Rome and still felt it wasn't enough.
Have a wonderful trip. You're going to LOVE Italy!
