You can go to:

www.trenitalia.com

You can select English at the top of the page.

Select a date within the next 5 days (I believe) so that the price is displayed.

And for schedules for all of Europe, not just Italy, go here:
http://www.bahn.de/i/view/GBR/en/index.shtml

For info on trains anywhere in the world, go here:

If you go to this version of the Trenitalia website, you don't need to use Italian spellings of cities:

http://www.fsitaliane.com/homepage_en.html

When you search, you'll see there are several stations in/around Como from which you can travel to Milan. There are also multiple stations in Milan. Most likely, you want to go from Como Nord Lago (closest to the ferry dock) to Milan Centrale or perhaps Milan Nord Cadorna. Most of these trains involve a connection. On the other hand, most trains from Como San Giovanni (a short taxi ride from the dock) to Milan Centrale take less time and do not involve a change.

If you happen to be heading to Malpensa Airport, you don't need to go to Milan first. Search instead from "Como" to "Malpensa Aeroporto" to see those results.

Will you trip begin in Como city or will you be somewhere else on the lake? The reason I ask is because there is another train line favored by people who are staying at midlake (Bellagio, Menaggio, or Varenna). If you are staying there, you may find it more convenient to take the train from the Varenna-Esino station to Milano Centrale.
