Italy Train Rookie: how difficult is it to change trains?
It seems it is sometimes not possible to get a direct route without changing trains, and sometimes connections times have about 6 minute windows.
Should be I worried about this?
Sorry if this is a really stupid question. We've never travelled on trains in Italy before...
thanks,
dina

You should be able to tell from bahn.de whether you have to change platforms - with only six minutes you would hope you just have to cross from 2 to 3, say. However, in my experience Italian trains do NOT run to time. I once booked a 10 minute connection in Milan through a TA and she thought I was nuts. I wouldn't have made it if the outbound train hadn't been on the next platform, and if I hadn't walked through the inbound train to the front. I think six minutes in Italy is optimistic.
