Italy Train Question

I’m trying to book train tickets in advance online for Sunday June 11 from Milan to Varenna-Esino but it says not available. Are they all sold out already or is there another way to get the tickets, or to get back and forth that day?

That's a regional train, no need to buy in advance.

Thank you. However, can we be sure they won’t be sold out when we get there?

If you read the link I posted you will see that regional trains never sell out. You cannot make a reservation for a seat on a regional, so you may have to stand, but you will be able to board.

There is a schedule change that day. They likely haven't posted the new tickets yet. Wait until mid next month and you'll be fine.

Once again: it doesn't make sense to buy tickets for local trains, commuter trains, metros and tramways long in advance.
Varenna bound trains start at Milan; board them some 20 minutes prior to departue and you will find plenty of free seats.
