Bvlenci,
May not matter to this op, but I do not think your friend is correct. It sounds as if she did stay at the Loreley before it closed, but the Hotel Mignon Meuble is not the old Loreley et Londres, unless they redid the Loreley very recently and opened it under the management of the original Hotel Mignon. I think they did have the same owners and you are right that the Loreley had wonderful sea views. It was perched right on the cliffs and the old building is still there, but not open. The Hotel Mignon is OK, right in the center of town and still open. I have stayed at both. I keep hoping someone will repair and reopen the Loreley. It was so old world elegant and the views awesome.

I actually tried to find out what was being done with the building with no success. If I am wrong, do you know when it re-opened? Now I am really curious and will contact Hotel Mignon.

Sassafrass, you're probably right. My friend didn't tell me that the Lorelei et Londres had re-opened. What happened is that I googled it and found a blog that said it had re-opened under the new name. The blogger was probably mistaken.

Neglex, I know Castelraimondo very well. I didn't know there was a school there. We have a summer home nearby. If your daughter will have any free time during her three weeks, I can suggest some activities. I assume they'll take them around so see some of the local sights. It's a very beautiful area, especially further inland, as the mountains start to rise.

Bvlenci,

Thanks to your post connecting the two hotels, I emailed the people at Hotel Mignon. They just responded and said they have not renovated or reopened the Lorelei and do not know if they ever will. Too bad, but at least we know.
