Hi John

"Chacun a son gout".

I ran this through a translater and got this in Italian

"ciascuno ha la sua gotta"

which came out as

"each it has its gotta"

or

"chaque il a son gotta"

I fear the translater is not familiar with idioms.

Hi Soni4357,

I'm a little confused by your post. You're leaving very soon, so I'm assuming you already know what cities you're going to, and that you have reservations made to stay in those cities. If you don't, that's really the first thing you need to decide and take care of ASAP!!

Anyway, to echo what others have said, if you want unbelievable food, I'd head to Southern Italy, although probably not Naples. Naples is wonderful, vibrant, and all the rest, but I think it would be totally overwhelming for a first-timer. Instead, I'd recommend basing either in Sorrento ( good nightlife for your son) which offers easy access to Naples, Capri, Pompeii, and towns on the Amalfi Coast, OR basing in one of the Amalfi Coast towns like Positano ( which is heaven on earth to me) or Ravello, although your son may find both of these too quiet.

As far as Rome, I disagree with posters who recommend more than a few days, but it really is a matter of personal taste. My husband and I lived in Manhattan for nearly 20 years, but felt frazzled and underwhelmed by Rome, food and all.

Good luck with your trip!

Avoid Naples and spend 1 or 2 days in Milan
