ITALY FOR A MONTH

Am in early stages of planning a trip to Italy -- while length of stay and time of year open, am contemplating a month leaving EOM April visiting Florence/Tuscany/Naples/Amalfi Coast, then perhaps off to Malta for several days
Questions:
Stay in Florence or Siena?
2 bases, or 1 in Tuscany? and, if so, where?
train Florence/Naples?
How long/ where Naples/Amalfi Coast?
All suggestions most gratefully appreciated.
Thanks!
TopDogJoan

Ahhh, now you're posting in the right place! Welcome to the Europe board!

Your next lesson is to learn to use the search box: Look at the top of the page to find the "search this forum" box. You can do a search here for every message that's ever been posted on any subject you choose. So for starters, I'd suggest that you type <Bob the Navigator> (without the little arrow thingies) into the search box and all his posts will appear on the left-hand side of your screen. Spend time reading his posts. Bob's one of our resident Italy experts and his advice is molto excellent. Reading these posts will show you the "big picture," then you can come back to ask specific questions. You'll find lots of Italophiles here on this board!

Welcome TopDogJoan. I also find that doing a search for various trip reports and reading them gives me a lot of ideas for my own travels.

Grazie Betsy ! Your check is in the mail. Then Joan, after reading the archives here, go over to slowtrav.com and spend another 2 hours in the planning section and trip reports. Stay big picture for now:
When, how long, how much, transport mode ????

Grazie back to you Bob! How about stock options instead?

Hmmm ! Stock options--never thought of that. Alas, my life has become simple. I have been having a small bit of limoncello on my sherbert after dinner. That is my tip for the day.
