Italy for 5 days

with 2 boys . ... any recommendations for where to go in Italy for 5 days? rome + venice? just rome? rome + florence?

If you have 5 days, and 2 kids, I would go to Rome, and stay in Rome.

Maybe take a day trip from Rome to Orvieto or Ostia Antica.

I agree, stay in Rome, but my day trip would be Florence---only 1:35 by train and they run twice hourly.

I think it depends on the ages of the kids and the time of year of your trip.

Whatever you choose: you can do just ONE destination. Five days is like nothing for the wealth of any given Italian city or area.
