Italy Driving Maps

I will be driving in the Tuscany area when I visit Italy in August. I would like to purchase good driving maps before I leave so that I could become familiar with the area ahead of time. What maps do you recommend and where do I purchase them? I tried Trek Tools but they are sold out right now. Thanks for your input.

I highly recommend a GDS with European maps!

Michelin has good driving maps...

I use 2 maps. The Michelin #563 for overall planning--it covers all of centro Italy. But, for real details of back road Tuscany you want the TCI map of Toscana. Try Globe Corner Bookstore online.

That TCI (Touring Club of Italy) 1:200000 map is great. I think I found ours in a local barnes and noble.

You should be able to get Michelin maps at any sizable book store - or at Amazon or b&N online if you don;t have nay bookstores nearby.
'
Also - I would print out in advance detailed street maps of any city you will be visiting - esp the ares of your hotel and the major sights. (These are eps good because they show one way streets - which are very common.)
