I assume you're referring to Venetian glass beads, and maybe Antique Trading Beads made in the 1800s in Venice. It's a great question, and I'd love to know if there are any places in Italy that sell such items. However, I think the title of your question is too vague to get much of a response. I also think you might get a better answer if your question had an explanation of what you're talking about. I'll be watching to see if anyone knows of such a place!

We just got back from Venice and shopped around a lot for beads. The best selection and prices we found were at a little shop on Murano. Get off the vaporetto at the Museo stop and walk left. The shop is a few doors from the Glass Museum. Be advised though: prices are not cheap. In no time at all you can run up a big total! Do research at home first--some of the beads you can get on the internet cheaper. Devote your Murano purchases to truly unique beads that you can't buy at home or that you need to see in person to select.

Hundreds of "hits" come up on eBay (choosing today as one random example) searching "Glass Beads" and adding (Venice, Venetian, Murano) to the search.
Of course, maybe you already know that, know what is readily available through "common" internet sources - - and are looking for very specific looks.
Big sift through the chaff for the wheat in Venice's myriad glass "doodad" vendors, I imagine!
Best wishes,
Rex

mmapg, I just tried to top a thread for you, but it wouldn't let me post a reply to it. If you put Venice beads in the search box above and select Italy, there's a thread about Murano and glass beads with 20 responses to help you.

SusanP is talking about http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34441284 - - topping a thread is never very useful, anyway, for more than a few hours. Citing the URL is "permanent", and always better.

You're welcome - - and since I rant (at times) about things that Fodors does wrong, let me at least acknowledge that they DO tell how to do this in their "HELP" (see? in those tiny red letters, in the upper left hand corner?) - - detailed at http://www.fodors.com/forums/faqs.cfm#Q3A
I used to rant about this also, until they added it there (I guess that's why it's 3A!)
