As you probably know, Italy does not use the Lire any longer, the Euro is the official currency. Banks in Italy will take Lire and exchange it at the offical rate in effect as of the date the country converted to the Euro, which was Jan 1 2002. I don't know if you will find a bank in the US which will take your Lire. In any event, I would go to a large US bank (Chase, Citibank, etc) as they do lots of foreign currency exchange and may be able to take your Lire.

Princess, did you really mean 350 lire? At the good old pre-euro days, 350 lire wouldn't buy you a cup of coffee; so why bother?

At this point only the Banca d'Italia will take lire. There are branches in most major cities in Italy. Beware, they have quirky hours.

http://www.ecb.int/change/ncb/italy.htm

American Express also has currency exchange places, but I don't know about Lira. As already said, if it's 350 lire, it's pocket change. if $350 worth of lira, that's another story.
