Flwrhead I completely agree. Something doesn’t feel right about that. It makes no sense.
Meanwhile we are headed to Paris-Provence-Florence in just over two months! Woot woot! Excited to read this trip report!

Mural of Paul Bocuse
💙
Les Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse. I love bulots
This looks good but it didn’t have a crispy bottom.
No, I didn’t eat all these oysters
Just a pretty sidewalk, we were looking for the metro.
Cathedrals Saint-Jean
💙
Basilica Notre-Dame de Fourviere
I was so excited to finally eat at Paul Bocuse…
But it was a big disappointment.
Pretty but no umami
Mur des Canuts or Wall of the Canuts
My husband said his lamb was good but nothing special
This mural depicts 31 famous individuals. There are many murals in Lyon, unfortunately we only saw two.
💜
I climbed these steps two hours after lunch at Paul Bocuse, not a bright idea.
Tour metallique de Fourviere.
Red olives
This cheese was so delicious! I wished I bought a bigger cut.

Wish I were there, I"m thinking of next Fall.
Can you explain what you mean by this sentence for future potential travelers:
No problem at all with getting the test, just a couple of forms to complete and we were good to go
What do you mean by that, did you have to get some test at the airport upon landing and you had to fill out forms to do that and the test didn't take long so that's why there was no problem? If you didn't have to take a test, was that because of some other reason that you had to show them? If that's what happened, and you had to have a test to fly, what kind and when did you take it? What airline did you fly?
thanks

We were coming from Greece and France just opened. We had to present a negative test and a form (for contact tracing) at check-in in order to get in to France. We took the antigen test the day before our departure. The cost was 19 euro, we received the results within 20 mins. We flew on Air France.

I have no problem with being tested coming or going to Europe. I flew to Maine this week and never felt so uncomfortable. Packed plane and not one temp check or question asked. Variant and covid cases have filled Fl hospitals again. There are so many walking around with no mask and no vaccination infecting people.

Thank you very much for following my adventure to Greece and France, I am humbled.
We love Lyon and looking forward to going back. We didn’t do too much, just wandered, swim in the hotel swimming pool (it was so hot while there) and took day trips to Annecy, and Vienne, both lovely and charming. While in Annecy, we made a last minute decision to go to Geneva, Switzerland for a couple of hours.
My pictures from Lyon are not the best. It was hard to take pictures in Lyon at times because the sun seems to be in front of me when I want to take a picture. I will post pictures of Annecy and Vienne in the next few days.
💜💐

Cafegoddess, your photos are whetting my appetite for France and its food. Thanks for coming back and adding these. I've found that posting photos makes it feel like your trip is ongoing.
We had a similar disappointment at Bernard Loiseau. The food was way over-salted. Pretty as a picture but not as good as meals we've had at many less-hyped restaurants.
