Istanbul hotel room for 2+2 people - please help select from my short list

Hello,

I am looking for a somewhat upscale hotel in Sultanahmet within 10-15 min walking distance to the major sights.

Trying to book a room for 2 adults and 2 kids (under 12), it looks like there are not too many options? A lot of hotels, including the popular ones here and the top ranked ones on TripAdvisor, limit to 3 individuals total in a room.

I found the following hotels, would greatly appreciate any input and suggestions.
Best Western Premier Acropol Suites & Spa
Best Western Premier the Home Suites
Yesil Ev
Empress Zoe

Additionally, if you know of hotels that accommodate 4 people in a room, please let me know as well.

Thank you!
Matt

try www.booking.com
you can search for a room for 2 adults + 2 children ( you will have to enter childrens age) and you will get lots of hotels to choose from.

We (2 adults plus 17 year-old) stayed in the garden suite at Empress Zoe last year. It has two rooms--one with a double bed and one with two twin day beds--and we felt we had plenty of room to spread out. I believe there are a few other rooms there that will accommodate four, but email the hotel to be sure; I found them very responsive to inquiries.

I thought the location was good for Sultanahmet--convenient to everything but not a lot of traffic right around the hotel, itself. There's a nice interior garden with a fountain and some cats that live there--things that kids may like. I loved the hotel and would definitely go back there if staying in Sultanahmet.

My wife and I stayed in a small suite (2 bedrooms, small living room, breakfast included) at the Sari Konak hotel,

in May 2009. We liked it. The breakfast was more than adequate, the hotel clerks were helpful, and the location was good -
a block or so to the Blue Mosque and within easy walking distance of the main Sultanahmet tourist destinations and decent affordable restaurants.

I stayed in the family room at the Hanedan Hotel last November. There were only 2 of us, but I think they saw our large suitcases and took pity on us! The room is very roomy, with one queen size bed and two twins.

It is nice hotel, but wouldn't qualify as upscale.

Dear all,

Thanks very much for your suggestions. We have decided on Dersaadet, after considering Yesil Ev, Sari Konak and Empress Zoe. They all look good and we could have gone with any one of them, but the decision had to do mainly with the specific room we would get - the floor it was on, comments on TA, etc.

Four Seasons was outside our budget (700+ Euro/nt for family suite). Kalyon and Hanedan look nice - but we had already booked.

Will definitely try to write up a TR towards end July.

Agree with ms_go. I have stayed in the same Chez Zoe Garden Suite at the Empress Zoe and highly recommend the hotel. Perfect location, too.

I LOVE the garden at the Yesil Ev.

If staying in Sultanahmet, definitely go there for dinner at night. The trickle fountain and fairy lights are magical.
