OK, I'll admit it I really don't like hotels, never have. I really enjoy B&B's however. I much prefer the "sharing someones home/houseguest" vibe at a B&B as opposed to the "guest in room 6004" feeling at a hotel. Just my opinion.

I'm having a tough time locating any true B&B's in Istanbul. Any suggestions?

Another possibility would be to rent an apartment for a week. We'll have four adults in our party. Mr & Mrs turnip and the respective Mom's.

Well, its harder to give a recommendation for such place in Istanbul, easier for Anatolia, having said that For longer Stay Ansen Suites at Pera region, Taxim Suites at Taksim area, Sari Konak at Sultanahmet closer to the description. I know excatly the feeling and what you mean....

I was very impressed with the Alp Guest House - http://www.alpguesthouse.com. Otherwise, for an apartment try Side Hotel & Pension - http://www.sidehotel.com. Both are in Sultanahmet, an excellent location for siteseeing.

We're going to Istanbul in a few weeks. Many of the hotels that I looked at for a stay in Sultanahmet are more along the lines of guesthouses and would probably offer what you're looking for. We're staying at The Seven Hills, but there are plenty of other choices too, like Deseradet (spelling?) and Emprss Zoe. Good luck!

I just stayed at the Ottoman Imperial Hotel in Istanbul and i loved it. You couldn't ask for a better location and nicer roomes. Check out their websight... The prices are very reasonable for what you get!

We just returned from the newly opened sultanahmetsuites.com. It was a nice place and quite intimate with only 4 or 5 apartments. It is also now reivewed on the turkeytravelplanner site.

Just completed our stay at the Empress Zoe ın Sultanahmet yesterday and we adored ıt!! 4 of us - Mom & Dad & Daughter & Son. We stayed ın the Maısonette Duplex whıch was 2 levels - 2 bedrooms on the lower and on the upper a kıtchenette and table and 2 day beds. The best part was the 2 huge balconıes. One faces the Bosphorus - outstandıng vıew - and the other looks rıght onto Hagıa Sophıa (so close!) but Four Seasons ıs expandıng rıght there. The garden and breakfasts are exquısıte and delıcıous wıth good coffee and lots of prıvacy throughout (and resıdent cats). The servıce was so nıce as everyone made a poınt to say hello. The best part about the Empress Zoe ıs ıts excellent locatıon and yummy breakfasts but especıally the charmıng yet quırky yet loveably colorful decor.
Be warned that there are very steep staırs and 1 bathroom for 4 people was quıte challengıng at tımes!
Otherwıse Empress Zoe ıs the perfect oasıs b&b ın the heart of old bustlıng Istanbul.

You can stay at a boutique hotel which has addjoining (interconnecting) rooms. Because they will be cheaper and more comfortable. For example www.adaistanbul.com can be a good chose. It is located in Sultanahmet,old city(Blue mosque, St. Sophia, Grand Bazaar and many of the other historical beauties) If you stay that hotel you can reach all of these places by walking. The hotel has a historical and sea view. I guess you better visit it's website(www.adaistanbul.com). And note that this hotel is 19th hotel among 370 hotels in tripadvisor.com

Maybe you can contact to the managers, because if you stay long you can get a better price. Mailing to the managers is the best i think. You can make a deal with them. I don't know if it is answering but the mail of ada hotel is [email protected]

sultanahmetsuites.com where we stayed is much cheaper than the other options mentioned above. We paid E60 per night for our one bedroom apartment. What I would do if I were you would be to rent 2 of their apartments. The top floor is more of a smaller studio apt (E70 a night) but it has a terrace where you could all sit when it is nice out. Then rent one of the regular one bedroom apartments like we had so you could have a true living room when you want to be inside. We enjoyed the place but need to advise you that while extremely close to all the tourist places it is in a real neighborhood and probably isn't for those who need to be in the middle of tourist central.

Side Pension has already been mentioned, so I'll just say that I have stayed there too, and liked it very much.

It's not a B&B but it's not a full scale international soulless accommodation option either.

Excellently located; nice rooms; nice bathrooms (but maybe not if you are a large person). Breakfast served on a roof terrace.

I paid 30us for a single four years ago.

Yeh - recommended.

the hotel I was mentioned is a B&B hotel. It has a really stunning terrace and nearly all of the rooms have air conditioning, jacuzi, mini bars and they can pick you up from airport and then also drop you to airport. and the most important thing is they make discounts. although their prices are reasonable for a hotel like that they can make discounts.

Friends of mine have stayed here many times. It is a small hotel but it might be more like a b&b and I believe the prices are very reasonale although you have to email them to get the price.

We haven't stayed there yet but we booked an apartment at the Galata Residence in the Galata Residence - our first choice dream was Empress Zoe but for three people (parents and teen daughter) we need space and privacy and the rates just came out too high. We found Galata reasonable for our needs although we will miss the hotel breakfasts...but luckily I am a great cook and can put a similar breakfast spread together rather easily! Hopefully, it will be nice and the location looks great for our needs - near Sulthanahment but close to Beyoglu, too.

Also, stop asking your former guests to write rave reviews on tripadvisor. It is extremely unethical.

You threatened your former guest who posted a critical review on tripadvisor. Then you discussed private lives of that guest on a public forum.

NO HOTEL MANAGER should ever call a former guest in her home country and threaten her. NO HOTEL MANAGER should expose customers’ privacy on the internet. This is a true misconduct and is totally against all ethics of hotel management.

This is a very serious invasion of privacy by a Hotel Manager into the private lives of hotel's guests. I stayed at Sultanahmetsuites for 5 days and I had a very positive experience
Service was warm, welcoming, professional, the location is very good
Enjoyed my stay here very much. The hotel had a friendly family atmosphere and the manager, Mr joy, was a gentleman.

We would certainly stay again.
