Istanbul Edirne and Bursa

Hello,
We have just over 2 weeks in Turkey over Easter and, in the first instance we are spending 7 nights in Istanbul (we arrive at midnight so 6 days), and then plan to bus up to Edirne to take in some Ottoman sites and will have to spend a night there.
After that we shall take a bus again to Bursa and probably spend 2 nights there - it also is where there is Ottoman stuff to be found.
We have not planned any of the rest of our holiday but would appreciate any tips or interesting thoughts on the Ottoman Empire.
Thanks in advance
Patricia

In Bursa, I was deeply impresssed by the Muradiye Complex and glad to see the Green Mosque. Enjoy your trip!

May be you could include Konya, thanks to the high speed trains and then reach Bursa with a change from train to bus at Eskisehir

There are also trains to Edirne, but buses are more frequent and faster.

Hi neckervd, unless I'm getting my wires crossed Konya seems far away - am I mistaken?

Konya is 5 hrs by train from Istanbul and 5 hrs by train and bus from Bursa.
Bursa is 3 hrs by ferry and bus from Istanbul.
Edirne is 4 hrs by train from Istanbul.
Add 1 hr to each connection for local transport between Istanbul city center and the different railway stations resp. boat piers.
