I haven't used it but it's been around awhile. They seem to have most of the bookings names registered for use as you can access them through .net or .org or by adding the abbreviation of any country after the . such as fr,it,es etc.

I used their Dutch site (www.bookings.nl) to book a hotel in Amsterdam a couple of years ago & everything went fine.
I also cancelled a Barcelona hotel booking with them last year, again without any problems.

Sorry - also should have said that, rather than charge your card when you book, this agency simply reserves the room for you to pay the hotel direct.
This means that if your plans change, or you find a better hotel or room rate, you can cancel without any charge from www.bookings (although there could still be a charge from the hotel depending on their policy).
