Peter did you or are you still taking your boat-building course in Venice?

How is Lou?

Hope you are well.

People here in this thread are so totally pretending to ignore the horror that is Venice. It is hard to fathom how deeply they are misleading you with the glorious descriptions of the so-called fun they pretend to have had.

First of all, the cruise ships float in on the constant floods and empty all their privies DIRECTLY onto Piazza San Marco, which is why even the pigeons no longer frequent the place.

And is true that the living cats are much more horrific than the dead cats, which is why the locals go on cat-killing sorties every morning around six. If any cats survive, those cats spend all their time the rest of the day at the horrible, horrible restaurants, which are all run by Koreans, trying to order seppie in nero, and if they are successful, they don't pay the bill, and tourists are asked to pick up the tab. Not just the tourists in the restaurants - - but anybody who happens to be walking by the front door in the narrow, narrow lanes, filled with cruise ship excrement.

I have to stop now, before I start telling the real, sordid, actual hideous facts about Venice, which most people never survive to tell the story.

Dforth.
Is it living cats that end up in the restaurants or the dead ones?

>>which most people never survive to tell the story.<<

Is that because they've been sent to sleep with the dead cats, or is that a different movie?

In my opinion, Venice is the 2nd most beautiful city I've ever been to.... (after Paris). It's a MUST & unique.

And no, When I've been there.. it was very clean. really, whoever said it's dirty and you can skip it needs to grow a brain
