Is this schedule too ambitious?
Hi , I'm current planning a 2 weeks trip to Europe dates are roughly Sept 14th to Sept 30th it's a high level travel plan nothing is concrete yet but below are the places we want to visit. We will be landing in Amsterdam on 14h then work our way to Frankfurt for departure on the 30th. Our main main question is , will it be worth it to travel to Vienna for the 4 days, or is it best to leave it out and allocate more days in each of the other 3 locations because originally we had Amsterdam, Prague and Germany in our mind. Our main purpose is more or less to eat , sight see the architectures/castles/palaces, and visit the country side of southern Germany and no shopping whatsoever. From Prague we will be flying to Munich , and probably be there for Oktoberfest and rent a car and do a mini-road trip to Frankfurt to leave with stops along the way. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
Amsterdam - Sept 14th to 17th
Vienna – Sept 17th – 20th
Prague Sept 20th – 24th
Germany Sept 24th – 30th

Yes, leave Vienna for some other trip, as it's a bit out of the way for this schedule. Focus on Bavaria, plenty to see/do/eat/drink, especially since you're visiting during Oktoberfest, which will easily take out 2 of your days, depending on how much you'll be drinking. For a taste of Austria, if you've never been, easier to fit Salzburg in your schedule. Other places or sites to consider: Garmish, Dachau, Berchtesgaden, Nuremberg, Bamberg, Rothenburg, and my favorite Andechs monastery. From Prague you could also take a train to Nuremberg and start your Bavaria there. Distance is short, I drove it in about one or two hours, I don't think it's worth flying. But I assume you fly Amsterdam to Prague which would make more sense.
OR, drop Prague and fly to Viena instead, then work your way back from there to Salzburg, Munich etc. I'm just thinking that both Prague and Wien is a bit too much.

You haven't accounted for the travel times:
Amsterdam - Sept 14th to 17th means 2 full days and whatever remains of your arrival day.
Vienna – Sept 17th – 20th means 2 full days and whatever remains of your travel day (presumably by plane?)
Prague Sept 20th – 24th means 3.5 days (roughly half a morning to reach Prague from Vienna by train)
Germany Sept 24th – 30th
Just my €0,02. I think you might be shortchanging Amsterdam and Vienna. If Amsterdam is a "must," then I would suggest dropping Vienna. If Amsterdam is not a "must," I would transfer from Amsterdam directly to Vienna, then Prague, and on to Munich. Late September is the grape harvest season in the vineyards around Lower Austria and Moravia, which translates to numerous festivals with eating and drinking. Also, out to the west in Austria and in Bavaria, since you are traveling in that direction, there are festivals that celebrate a safe alpine summer for the livestock, Almabtrieb, where the cows are fancifully decorated and paraded through the villages on their way down from the alps. These are quite a bit of fun, and of course there will be plenty of eating and drinking involved. Finally, Lower Austria and Moravia are filled with castles and palaces; you won't suffer for choice.
Happy Planning!

Thanks all for your inputs, I guess Vienna will be another trip, I ll focus on Amsterdam, Germany, Prague. This is considered my first time in Europe, well I've been to London years back but it was for business. Really looking forward to really experiencing Europe this time around.
