Is this do-able?

I am flying in to Madrid from London on 22/03/07 at 11:35. Would it be possible for me to collect my luggage, get to the Atocha station and catch the 14:35 Talgo 200 to Malaga?

Does anyone know the best route from Barajas Airport to the Atocha station? Does the (pink) 8 – metro line turn into the (gray) 6 line? If so, would the best bet be to take the metro to Cuatro Caminos and transfer to the (light blue) 1 line to “Atocha”? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Why don't you fly into Malaga since it seems that's the place you want to go?

Actually, you should be able to fly from London to Malaga and avoid Madrid altogether since you are not planning on enjoying what the city has to offer.

British Air has several non-stop flights starting at around 150 euros/round-trip.

If you've reserved ahead of time you shouldn't have any problem catching the 14:35 Talgo to Malaga.

You have to be at the station at least 20 minutes before departure and will have to clear security, so, if your flight is on time, and your luggage is there, a taxi should be able to get you to the station in under 30 minutes.

If you land at 11:35, then yes, you will have no problem catching the 14:35 train. You won't have time to do anything else though.
