Is this approprite attire?
I was thinking of wearing the following in Paris and Rome:
Rainbow-colored shirt
green shorts
black knee-length socks
white sneakers
baseball cap
funny pack

Will I look like a tourist?

JUST KIDDING!!!

No matter what you wear, you WILL (most likely) LOOK LIKE A TOURIST! Individual tastes cannot be argued, but don't try to dress like a European if that's what you don't usually do. If you don't "get" it, don't pretend that you do!

Please don't take this post seriously and not try to suggest alternative attire...

I have come to the conclusion that if you pull out a large enough roll of French francs, it matters little in Paris what you have on -- assuming it is not something that will get you arrested.
I ceased to worry about my attire ever since my second night in Paris. We were seated next to a man clad in an undershirt and trousers at a fairly decent restaurant. He received food and drink just like the other customers.
I did get the impression, however, that the management was glad that he was not twins.

Frankly, you would have fooled me......that is until I saw your funny pack.......only Euros use those...actually, I tried to buy one the last time I was in Paris, but the salesclerk wouldn't sell me one..said it was one of the few things left that truly separates the Euros from the Americans......

Surely hiho is only a troll... I haven't been on this forum for long, but seems like everything I've seen from hiho has been either snotty, or hiho acts as though his/her word is THE gospel.
What about it, those of you who have been here a while?
