Is there a place to leave luggage in Naples if you are taking a day trip?
If we do Pompeii on our way to Amalfi coast, can we leave our luggage in Naples train station like we can in Milan?

The best place to leave it is Pompei. If you leave it at Naples station you'll have to back-track for it and waste time.

Does anyone know if you can still leave bags at Naples or Pompeii train stations -- in light of tighter security around the world? Thanks.

In March '02 the Pompeii luggage storage was open. It's to the right of the ticket collecting booth/turnstiles.
Naples Centrale train station has a manned luggage storage, which would be open like all the other main sations. It's the self-service lockers in Italy that are still closed. The lockers were closed just post 9-11 and were still closed last month. Regards, Walter

The left luggage facility at Pompei is at the entrance to the ruins (100m from Pompei Scavi station).
