Joe: Try www.seat61.com for some good general info on the sleeper trains. Although his journeys start/end in London the overnight trains leave/return from Paris. Regards, Walter

Joe, the connection I mentioned above is via Zurich, where you will have to change train. Arrival in Zurich is at 6 something in the morning and you will be woken up at that moment.
The train has a sleeping car and sleeperettes.

There is a direct night train from Paris-Bercy 22:20, arriving in Milano Centrale 8:45. If you take the 22:43 from Paris-Est, you have to change in Zürich (arr 6:20, dep 6:30).
The reference library of a city near you may have the Thomas Cook European Timetable. Table 44 (Winter) shows trains thus. Paris Bercy 2220, Milan 0845 to 0900, restaurant car train, Bologna 1044
Paris Bercy 1909, Bologna 0632. These trains are also in http://www.sncf.com/indexe.htm

Ben Haines
, London
